We are using the results of our study to deliver evidence-informed training workshops to Therapeutic Community staff and clients.
We are using a communications skills training approach called CARM, developed at Loughborough University. CARM entails using examples taken from real, audio-visually recorded episodes of interaction. Therefore, it is very different from training that employs simulated or role-played examples of communication. In our workshops, we are using clips from video-recorded Therapeutic Community group meetings to exemplify several communication skills.
