Psychotropic medication can be a delicate topic in mental health Therapeutic Community (TC) group meetings. Medication has its side effects, which TC clients often complain about. TC staff members can find themselves in a difficult position: they are expected to listen to their clients’ complaints and to support them, but they are also expected to promote clients’ adherence to the medical regime prescribed by their doctors.
