Sharing

A crucial part of the Therapeutic Community process involves sharing one’s experiences with other members. In a seminal study, Wootton (1977) explored the process of sharing in a mental health Therapeutic Community. Our research expands on and further develops those early findings.

By sharing their experiences in group meetings, Therapeutic Community clients can engage in self-reflection and receive feedback and support from others. However, several hurdles can get in the way and make sharing difficult.
